The role of precious metal catalysts in fuel cells

Ames Goldsmith Corporation is a global specialist in precious metal chemistry. Our products are used in several green technology applications including specialty silver electronic powders for photovoltaic applications, silver salts for solar mirror production and platinum group metal electrocatalysts for green hydrogen production and fuel cells.

Due to the importance of the emerging hydrogen economy, Ames Goldsmith Corporation has put a great onus on expanding its already well-established product range.
Platinum group metal catalysts are manufactured at three sites within the group: Colonial Metals, Inc. (Maryland, US), Ames Advanced Materials (New Jersey, US) and Ames Goldsmith Ceimig (Dundee, UK).

Whilst Ames Advanced Materials & Colonial Metals, Inc. cater to a wide range of applications (including PGM electrocatalysts), Ames Goldsmith Ceimig is a division with a focus on proton exchange membrane (PEM) technology. Our electrocatalysts have been used in PEM electrolysers and fuel cells for several years with a proven track record.
