Thanks for taking five with H2 View. What’s hot in the fuel cell market right now?
The fuel cell market, until now, was known to the general public as a low power, high volume market, mostly driven by hydrogen refuelling station programmes and public procurement of buses. Right now, the hydrogen economy is developing in a more inclusive manner and also opening up to serious high power applications. We see momentum developing for zero-emission shipping, for zero-emission temporary power and even for utility scale power-to-power systems.
Last year you announced a partnership with LAVO. As the regional focus of this month’s edition is Oceania, can you give our readers a brief update on this?
Our partnership with LAVO has been ongoing for several years now as it was originally administered under the University of New South Wales. The LAVO label was launched last year to be the world’s commercially available hydrogen battery for applications in the built environment. We are delivering fuel cells from our European production base on an ongoing basis and are working hard to localise added value and leverage the strength of the Australian supply chains to create green jobs locally, reduce costs and supply chain efficiency. In this process we are working hand-in-hand with the good people of the Springfield City Group and support from Australia federal and state government level.
