Fuel Cell Systems Ltd (FCSL) has been working with hydrogen and fuel cells in the UK and Europe for over a decade. The company’s CEO, Tom Chicken, who has been with the company since its inception, spoke to H2 View about the current market, his views on future growth and how FCSL has been delivering practical, commercially viable hydrogen refuelling projects in the transport sector since 2016.
FCSL’s approach has been to develop a range of affordable technologies that enable companies to trial hydrogen, but which are also modular, scalable and facilitate growth. They have been working to support vehicle manufacturers, fleets and others to start small and grow their hydrogen involvement, resulting in a series of successfully delivered projects across the UK and Europe.
There is an increasing focus on the need for companies across clean-tech to work together, most notably comments made by European Commission President Ursula Von der Leyen at the G7 Summit in Hiroshima last month where she said “This clean-tech race is an opportunity to go faster and further, together.”
