Ulsan, located on the southeastern tip of the Korean Peninsula, boasts a pleasant climate and scenery. The city is also the nation’s powerhouse of the automobile, shipbuilding and petrochemical industries and the base of major global players such as Hyundai Motors, Hyundai Heavy Industry, SK, and S-Oil.

Its strategic importance stems from the Port of Ulsan, which processes 34% of the nation’s automobile exports and 33% of all ships at dock. In addition, Ulsan enjoys an advanced transportation infrastructure, linking the port city to the rest of the country via high-speed KTX rail and its own airport.

It’s not just its climate and impressive industrial base for which Ulsan and South Korea is attracting admiring glances, however, with its growing hydrogen ambitions and policies causing many to sit up and take notice, as the Ulsan Free Economic Zone Authority explains here exclusively for H2 View.
