It’s not often you get to witness a world first. And when it comes to aviation, H2 View couldn’t pass up the opportunity to see H2FLY’s HY4 aircraft take to the skies of Slovenia, powered by liquid hydrogen.
Although the HY4 is no stranger to hydrogen-powered flight – having undertaken over 110 successful test flights using gaseous hydrogen since 2016 – the flight on Thursday (September 7) marked the beginning of a new era for the aircraft and H2FLY.
Taking place at Aerodrom Maribor in Slovenia’s northeast, the commercial (albeit small) airport welcomed you with a reminder of just how far the aviation industry has come in little over a century.
