Despite the maturity of alkaline hydrogen technologies, PEM is becoming one of the most pursued solutions due to its high current densities, high voltage efficiencies, rapid system response and more.
However, there are question marks surrounding the implementation of PEM solutions. In addition to precious metal use, proposed EU bans including polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) could seriously hinder the use of PEM hydrogen products.
