German automotive parts manufacturer MAHLE is doubling down on its plans to clean up road transport. In November 2024, the firm secured an agreement to supply essential components for MAN Truck & Bus’ 2025 hydrogen engine-powered truck fleet.
The Stuttgart-based company revealed it would supply components for the hydrogen engine that will power MAN’s hTGX truck – comprised of 56kg hydrogen storage, a direct-injection six-cylinder engine, offering 383kW of power.
Under the contract, MAHLE said it would supply its power cell unit, which consists of a piston, piston rings, piston pin and cylinder liner, with further components also set to be used in the valve train.
