US-based start-up HyWatts’ Power-Plant-in-a-Box™ solution has been designed to provide reliable, low-cost electrical energy to meet 2030 power requirements without a grid connection, using hydrogen for energy storage.
Established by co-founders Dr. Alex Ivanenko (CEO), Sam Ruben (Chief Business Development Officer) and Dr. Dietmar Trees (Chief Technology Officer), HyWatts’ power solution combines solar generation and hydrogen energy storage technology to provide continuous power.
Deployment of the first prototype is planned for next January, with the first 5kW stack prototype test scheduled for December. Developed to counteract lagging infrastructure requirements ahead of increased energy demands, the Power-Plant-in-a-Box can be deployed anywhere, combining solar generation and HyWatts’ hydrogen-based energy storage technology into one system.
