H2 View Introduces… Faun Zoeller UK

After deploying its hydrogen fuel cell-powered refuse collection vehicle (RCV) on the streets of St Helens, the borough became the first local authority to introduce the truck supplied by FAUN Zoeller UK (FZUK).

Reporting just under a billion in turnover, the ECOTEC division, part of the Kirchhoff Group, produces around 8,000 garbage trucks a year globally.  It began its decarbonisation journey in 2009, supporting Daimler Truck on a diesel-electric hybrid truck development, DUAL POWER.

The hydrogen-powered RCV, dubbed BLUEPOWER, was delivered to St Helens in 2022 to help reach Net Zero emissions in the wider Liverpool city region by 2040.
