As the hydrogen industry begins to form at the levels needed to reach climate targets, safety must be prioritised to mitigate liability concerns. This is especially key for marine applications which face rigorous approval processes, which currently hold few guidelines for hydrogen.
With over 100 years of experience in sensor development for the oil and gas, petrochemical and chemical industries, Dräger has expanded its hydrogen safety offering to include emerging applications for the energy carrier.
“Operators and designers have a liability of protecting lives,” Oliver Bornholdt, Global Business Development Manager at Dräger, told H2 View. “If an incident does occur, you have to prove that you have done everything to avoid it.”
