In a time where the term greenwashing is thrown about regularly, the question of how ‘green’ is green, is one that is coming increasingly to the forefront.
Those conversations have been one of the hottest topics in hydrogen policy throughout 2023, with regulations beginning to form across regions, determining the green credentials of the energy carrier that looks set to form a key part of our future energy system.
Although most can agree, the greener the better, it is a complex topic. Hydrogen is still a nascent industry. Should it have stringent rule imposed on it? How can regulations encourage its uptake while ensuring its climate benefits? And it seems there is no clear answer.
