Is it only February? The start of 2025 has proven to be rockier than many could have predicted. More job cuts, more scaling back, more ambitions called into question, and the future of clean hydrogen in key markets looking more uncertain. The news pages of this month’s Power Pillar issue contain further troubles at technology OEMs; revised rules for the US’ hydrogen tax credits; the suspension of those same tax credits and other hydrogen incentives. We also look into the rhetoric surrounding the use of green hydrogen in Germany’s steel industry, and how support looks likely to decline under its new government.
